Clayton Bowls is seeking Council approval to build an undercover all-weather synthetic bowling green at NamatJira Park.
The new undercover green is proposed to be constructed on the current northern green, close to where the Club serves food and beverage.
The Club has a long standing history with Namatjira Park, which is managed on behalf o the Victorian State Government by Council. Currently the club leases part of Namatjira Park.
The project wil enable the Club to offer the community a wider scope of undercover activities and also provide a world-standard green for social and competition bowls all year round.
The size of the membrane (roof) is 43m x 41m (approximately). The canopy edge height is approximately 3.2m and rises to a top of canopy height of approximately 8.5m.
The estimated cost of the development is $2 million, which will be funded by the Club.
This development will be an asset to the community, enabling social and competition bowling all year in all weather conditions.
